Hello all! I am a newbie, I literally took FAR today. I looked up when I should expect my score to be released and it says that if you took the exam after July 20 but before August 14 that you should get it August 25…. To me this seems like a crazy long wait time…. I mean I know that I’m not the only person in the world taking the exam but its all computer based… why is it gonna take a whole month for me to get the score? That’s just crazy seeing its done via computer so a human doesn’t actually have to grade it….

I just took FAR as well, so I know the feeling… What really doesn't make sense is that you can get a score within 10 days if you take it on the last day of a window, but it takes over a month if you take it on the first day of a window. Best thing to do is move on to the next section (if there is a next one) and try not to think about it for a while.

I took FAR on July 3rd and have to wait until August 4th and I take BEC tomorrow but have to wait until the end of August for the score so I know the feeling! It is so frustrating to have to wait 30+ days for your score, especially when I know my test has likely been graded for 2 week by now but I have to wait to see the score.

Taking BEC on 7/28. So this means I have to wait until the end of August? Oh well. All that matters is if I get at least a 75. I was just never good at the waiting game.

Gwarnick, that's not the worst part. On the day your scores are released, you'll go to the NASBA.org website. Your scores will be available 1 am EST. You're going to tell yourself you won't check the scores until you wake up the next morning, but you won't be able to sleep that night. And then you realize that EVERY candidate in the US who took a test in that window is logging on at the same time as the NASBA website crashes. It looks like you're going to get through and then the website just times out. You just keep hitting refresh, even though it's now 3 am and you have to go to work the next day. When you finally get through, and you're holding your breath that it works…you get a 73.

Its a bummer to wait (but faster than it was even 2-3 years ago, I tested on 1/5/11 and had to wait until 3/20 because score ;release was only once per testing window..

For the bonus points for anyone who hasn't taken BEC yet what are the benefits of batch processing vs. real time processing?

I had the same gripe about the amount of time it takes to get the scores. But I read somewhere that a person actually reviews everyone's tests (or maybe just the simulations on ones besides BEC?) before the tests are released. So if that's true then that would be why it takes so long.

As for the NASBA part, I made the mistake of staying up to try and get my score only once. I waited and tried to get in, then finally did…only to be told that Illinois scores are not released online with NASBA. I have to wait until the next morning for the ILBOA to upload the scores. Saves me the hassle at least of fighting with everyone else. 🙂

    Words of advice:

We all know that the wait is more stressful then the actual exam, so schedule to take your exam on the LAST day of the “between these two dates you will get the result on XX/YY/ZZZZ.” It's the only way to minimize the time delay.

    It's finally freaking over.

@gatorbates Fortunately I take REG on August 31st which is literally the last day of the next block. I still find it ignorant to take that long. I mean if the computer knows that you're doing good enough to bump you up to a harder testlet, than it should be able to tell you your score :/…. Oh wells … #thewaitbegins…..

Make no mistake, the computer knows your score the moment you hit submit, with the possible exception of the “BEC bubble” (you are so close to the 75 that human intervention is called in to double check the grading on the essays). Why they make us wait so long is anyone's guess.
