I studied real hard for 2 months using becker and ninja and as you can see from my recently edited signature was unsuccessful at BEC. I felt strong going in, but the test was hard, and I felt 50/50. I did becker questions 4-5 times over. I know there are some I’ll never understand, some I can maybe improve on, and many I understand well. I want to retake BEC as early in October as Possible. Anyone have some tips on how to keep the next 3 weeks productive without 8-10 hr study weekends which I did last time for this?

Take the points where you know they'll be presented. COSO, IT and Corp Governance are always big.

Make sure you know the variance formulas too.

Just stick with it man; like Nick said, there are certain areas that you know are going to be there for sure (COSO,Variance,Financial Management) so just own the material. Try not to just learn it for the MCQ's but for you..

You do that..trust me you will pass 🙂

Thanks, when I studied variances, COSO, and IT I knew it backwards and forwards. Variances on the test were easy and I think I got them right. IT and COSO were confusing.

COSO sucks! @Zackrampage Are you taking Audit next or sticking with BEC? I found that Wiley covered COSO better for Audit than they did for BEC.

Retaking BEC because I feel I know the material. I have to wait until. Thursday to schedule it. And I am going to reschedule for the first week of October.

BEC was the most frustrating exam for me. I was so pissed walking out of that test, but I passed and you can too.

What sections gave you the most difficulty? Pinpoint your weaknesses and strengthen the parts where you performed weaker on.

Also, how was your WC? I followed the basic format of:

Intro – restate the question

Body – BS BS BS BS BS

End – Re-emphasize how my answer related/solved the question.

I passed BEC this test window, but not by much.

FYI my performance report was:

Weaker: Corp gov, and IT

Comparable: Econ, Planning and WC

Strong: Financial and operations management

Which was funny, because I studied the hell out of Corp Gov/Coso and IT, yet they still ended up being my weakest areas. Go figure..

@Club I really want to see my performance report. When and how will I be able to? I had maybe 4-5 cost accounting questions total and didn't know how to do most of them. I had 0 econ which made me sad because I knew it.

Zack – I'm a California candidate, so when they release our scores, we also get a performance report. Not sure how the other states do it..

I got a 73 the first time I took BEC and went up 11 points. The second time around i focused solely on my notes and cranked out problems, focusing on IT, Corp Governance and Cost Accounting. My strongest advice would probably be to focus on your strongest areas. For me my weakest area was variances so I studied very little on that and only got one question which I actually got right. But all in all, I say crank out problems and take it soon while it is still fresh in your mind.

Zackrampage, I am in the same boat with you. I missed BEC by 5 points! I am also going to retake it the first week of October. I am waiting to receive the NTS to schedule the exam.

Zackrampage. I received my grade yesterday at around 11:30pm EST. But I could not apply for the NTS until this morning @ 5:30am. I just checked the status and it states ” ATT Ready to Send”. I'm in Florida, if that has anything to do with it. Try again, tonight or early tomorrow morning…may less traffic..

Hi Zach. Looks like we are in the same boat. Retaking BEC next month. Thinking of adding ninja MCQ to my becker studies. Do you plan on just using becker questions again?
