Does anyone know Roger’s 9 steps for how to properly use the course? He mentions it in the intro lecture but he says it is in the textbook. I am just wondering if anyone knows since according to UPS, I won’t be getting the textbook until March 4, so I want to make sure I’m not using it wrong or anything.

I don't recall him talking about 9 steps.

not sure if this is it, but I found this online

I would stick to the NINJA method; especially these parts:

Nail the Videos (Roger's videos in this case),

    Insane Notes, and

Nonstop MCQs (as many test bank questions as you can stomach; all of Ninja Test Bank and/or WTB).

EDIT: I just realized, if you have access to his videos, you should have his entire book. It's just online. The ebook thing that is on the other half of the screen when you watch his videos.

I've watched his videos many times; I only read his hard copy books once. The whole ebook is online. It was a waste of my time and energy to lug the hard copy around when it's conveniently online.

BTW, my picture is of my cat napping on my Roger FAR book, so it still gets used – hahaha

I could not have done it without NINJA MCQs.

Used: Roger for his Videos, WTB, and NINJA Audio, Notes and Test Bank.

I'm using Roger and I'm not sure about 9 steps but here's what he outlines in the study planner that you can find on the site:

    • Watch the lectures, while following along in the course textbook

    • Complete any Class Questions in the assigned lectures. Class Questions are located at the end of each section in the textbook

    • Read the textbook topics that correspond with the assigned lectures

    • Having viewed every lecture in a section, complete the Study Questions assigned at the back of the section

    • Having viewed all lectures and completed each assigned question, utilize the Interactive Practice Questions software

    • Check your answer to each question before moving onto the next question. It’s important to track your areas of

difficulty so that you can focus your efforts accordingly during your final review.

I know everyone is different but my first go around with FAR I tried using the NINJA framework and it didn't work for me because I started to forget what Roger covered in the first sections (as you know there are 31 sect. & 40 hours of video) even with my notes and also I can only watch so many videos straight through, even with Roger who is entertaining. I'm an audio-visual learner but also a hands-on learner so I needed to work those MCQs to feel like I'm accomplishing something and really retaining and understanding. In order to not forget what I learned in the earlier sections I made sure I was constantly reviewing by doing cumulative MCQs every few days in Roger's test bank. Once I finished all the video lectures and corresponding MCQs I started using NINJA MCQs, which are harder. During my study process I also had to re-watch some lectures a few times on harder topics.

For Audit, I'm trying the NINJA framework because there's only 9 sections and the material is more conceptual so I feel like I need the time to memorize the mnemonics, etc. to even start working the MCQs. I've tried a few MCQs on Roger's app and I'm doing poorly but I guess we'll see. I have about a month.

    Good luck with everything!

Oh and if you're an audio learner I also suggest getting the NINJA audio and playing that as much as possible and the notes are super helpful as well. I am currently using quizlet for my own flash cards. I easily get bored so I like that it has games using your flash cards and even has a test feature to test you on MCQs, T/F, matching and fill in the blank, again using your own flashcards. It's free so should check it out.
