I bought Rogers and have less than a months time left before my FAR exam. After going through first 2 chapters I really feel like it’s too easy and MCQ are all super easy. I’m now in fear of whether I’ll pass or not by using just Rogers (the 2016 version). Anyone pass with Rogers alone in 2016 with new IPQ? I feel like I need more practice in MCQ, should I buy NINJA MCQ and NINJA Notes? Or just NINJA MCQ as supplement?

I hate how I might have wasted money on Rogers…please advice…

IMHO Roger has the best lectures and books so you did not waste your time/money with him. Get through the lectures and concurrently work NINJA MCQs. For FAR I did not do any of Roger's test bank problems. It was all NINJA MCQs and SIMs.

So I guess I should buy both NINJA notes and NINJA MCQ for review at the end? Has anyone score above an 85 with just using Rogers, from what ‘Im seeing, everyone who use Rogers just barely pass it within 75-80 mark, like he's just teaching barely enough and you'll pass if you're lucky based on what you are tested on the actual CPA….I havent seen anyone score a 90 using Rogers either, I just want to have room for failure and not just base on luck. Any advice?

The first 2 chapters aren't too bad; however, you will have to go through another 29 chapters. I have 2014 edition, so mine might be different than yours. But understanding total 31 chapters is a lot of work. FAR is no joke. I am not sure less than 1 month is enough time preparing for FAR. Also, scoring more than 90 in CPA exams barely happens. In my opinion, Roger is a great product. Good luck.

Roger is a great teacher. To me, the books and lectures alone were worth the price. He has great memory aids for important information and explains things very well. My one gripe with him is his speed….he talks way too fast. But there's a slowdown feature you can use. His test bank is poop though. NINJA MCQ is an incredible supplementary tool. I typically watch the lectures while taking notes, pound ninja mcq for a few weeks while using the book to help me, then rewrite notes and go all in on mcq without the book.

No you didn't make a mistake. I think his MCQ's are easy initially to drill you in the concepts. While I get frustrated at times with the speed he goes over things, he really is the best lecturer. If you're worried about the difficulty, then just pick up NINJA MCQ's.

Yes, be sure to get the NINJA MCQ (Sims are included). NINJA Notes is a personal choice. You can not substitute the text book in your review course with these notes. For example, there are many vital journal entries that are not in the NINJA Notes. I bought the notes just to feel more confident and not wonder if it would have made the difference had I not passed FAR on the third take. Honestly, I scanned through the notes but did not use them much after that.

I tried Roger. Could not handle him. His style is not for me. He was just too high-strung, talked too fast, and his handwriting was horrible. Just my 2 cents.

I'll get NINJA MCQ for extra practice as suggested by many of you then. Thanks so much for the help!
