That sounds about right for a small gov't contractor or nonprofit.

Bear in mind that cost of living around here is much higher than other parts of the country, so don't focus on salary alone. You might be bringing in more cash, but a big chunk of that is going to be going straight towards your mortgage payment or rent. Also, commuting around here can get pretty stressful. Our public transit system has been notoriously unreliable lately and we have some of the worst traffic in the nation. With that said, this area has a lot going for it. Many career options, the most educated region in the country, lots of nightlife and entertainment options if that's your thing, great schools, etc.
