Scheduling My Exam!

Today is the 16th, and the only available time to schedule my AUD exam is July 1st. I could technically schedule it at a different testing center, but it would be a bit of a drive.

I’m planning on reviewing one chapter of auditing within 2 days. I am currently on Chapter 3. I should have enough time to study and review by July 1st, right? July 1st would be 2 weeks away from today.

This is also a retake of AUD. I was very close to passing on my first attempt. What do you guys think?

The only available time at your nearest testing center is the very first day of the window?? That can't be right. Try calling them to make sure there isn't something going on with their system because I have never seen any of the ProMetrics near me have such limited availability.

I'm sorry for the confusion. July 1st is not the only available time. The next available test day is July 23rd, which would not be very good for me because I start working full-time on July 20th. Having an excessive amount of time is also not very good in my opinion.

Oh, okay. I used Becker for Audit and I believe I completed my studying in 4 weeks. If you are already on Chapter 3, I'd say you would be in good shape to finish the material, but you may not get much chance to review.

I am also using Becker, but I am already in the review stage. I've found that I can't just memorize the material but I need to understand it and figure out the “why” for all concepts/principles. I think that may be one of the reasons why I did not pass on my first attempt.

Do you have any other advice to pass AUD? I also did tons of NINJA multiple choice. I scored weaker on the sims but stronger on the multiple choice. I had a couple FAR sims that showed up, so I am figuring out how to prepare for those. I have been told that studying the review material of FAR from Becker could help.

I recommend practicing sims and reviewing ratios….I got screwed over on AUD Sims twice since it was my first CPA exam (I will need to come back to this section later) and I got FAR-like Sims without ever really paying attention to the ratios or thinking these ratios would be relevant to this exam…hence me scoring weaker on the TBS section and always on the 70-74 range.

@fireblaze240 did you get FAR like sims each time you took it? I find it unfair that the examiners test on FAR-like sims for an AUD exam

yes I got it both times, the second time I got more of them. You would think from my first experience I would try to learn it, but nope I didn't. I would recommend understanding the ratios and knowing how to interpret them and what goes in the ratios, not just memorize how to calculate. IT isn't that important in AUD from my experience (BEC loves this section) so focus on the other stuff first over IT. I would've retaken it again, but my NTS would be in danger of expiring before I would attempt my other exams, hence why I took BEC after and somehow passed, and I have to take REG next since my NTS will expire after Q3.
