Score Release 2 vs. Score Release 3 – Does it really matter?

Since I have given up my trip to Hawaii in August, it has opened up several dates and I can reschedule my exam in my hometown and eliminate the hassle of travel on exam day. I have a choice of Aug 9 or Aug 16. One is in Score release 2 and the other is in Score release 3 (per Jeff’s timeline). Is there any truth to the rumor that there are less passing scores in the third release because they want to keep the pass rate at or under 50%??

Question is: do you want to take any chances?

    FAR (5/07/13): 96

Absolutely NOT! I have to pass FAR this time! No question about that! =) The only reason I am considering the 16th is the extra week of study days.

I'd take the extra week of study.

I do think the exam is curved in a way other than just determining the value of pretest questions, blah, blah, blah. But I wouldn't schedule my exam around it. You can absolutely pass this thing. If you think the extra week of study is necessary, then go for the 16th. Your knowledge and dedication is stronger than a silly curve.

I like to schedule close to the end of a wave, so I don't have to wait so long. But, when I rescheduled my exam close to test day because I knew I wasn't quite ready, I passed 🙂 Maybe go for the 9th if your study schedule permits. Then take another look around July 7th to see if you are on track. If not, try to reschedule it.
