Scoring Cap

I heard a rumor that there is a cap on the number of people they allow to pass the exam in a window. Has anyone heard this? I was told that if you take the exam at the end of the window, and if they already reach the threshold of passing grades, then they cap it. Is it best to avoid taking the exam at the very end of the window, or does it not matter and is this untrue?

    Thanks!

I got a 99 on BEC last quarter, but they failed me because they had already met their quota. 🙁

Hey, to be fair to the guy, we really don't know what the heck the AICPA is doing over there…

And yet this made me crack a smile lol. Man would there be a huge firestorm if people found out this was true! You just don't mess with stressed out CPA candidates!

@Dallas, That sounds like a story to me. I took all of my tests at the very end of the testing windows.

Okay – I had some serious doubts too. The reason I brought it up was because a girl in my review class a few months back was complaining how she was on the phone with someone from the AICPA about her test and how she didnt pass and she said that is what he told her. She was probably just freaking out and making excuses, but I though I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else heard of such a thing.

Naw, she probably just wasn't up to snuff and wanted to find a way to shift the blame to something/someone else other than herself. With the hardest one (IMO) in the can and 2 more already taken, I'd say you're well on your way, Dallas. Good luck.

Yes, it's true. That's why I failed AUD last window with an 87. 😀

Dallas she was just looking for a cop out for failing. Even if that were the gods honest truth nobody from the AICPA would fess up to it. Can't even pin them down on score releases the day they release them!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75
