    Hello all!

Do you guys know if it would be possible to ask the testing people to provide me with MORE than 3 pages of scratch paper at ones? I remember that when I was taking the exam last time I had to constantly raise my hand so they can come and pick up the pages I used and bringh me the new ones. Extremely rediculous and annoying process…

Nowadays you only get two two-sided laminated pages. You are not allowed anymore. Has it been while since you tested?

I agree that it's very annoying. You should ask if you can just get up and go to the moderator to get more paper when you need it. That way you don't have to wait for the moderator to see if your hand is raised. And you should be able to do that so you just get up with your used scratch paper, hand it in, and get more.

@Topsya – No more paper on pencil. Now you get noteboards and a marker.

@littlenumberrobot – You can still request additional noteboards, but you have to turn in what you've already used.

    From the candidate bulletin….

“Effective January 2, 2013, in lieu of scratch paper and pencils, candidates will be provided with two double sided, laminated, colored sheets called “noteboards,” as well as a fine point marker for making notations. You will be directed to write your examination Launch Code (from your NTS) on your noteboards. You will be required to return the noteboards to the test center staff when your examination is complete. If you need additional writing space, you may request additional noteboards from the test center staff, but you must first turn in the original noteboards you received in order to get a new supply.”

@Rupert – Yes I know we can turn them in… but I thought the OP was referring the notepaper booklet we were issued before the changes.

@everyone – sorry i said “scratch paper”.I realize now i confused you all…. i ment those laminite yellow pages.

@littlenumberrobot. its been 4 month since i took it.

    @rupert
thanks for such complete information on that topic! I really appreciate it! I though there was a way to ask for more…. oh well

i swer i had to raise my hand 10 times minimum, and at times i had to wave it like an idiot because they wouldnt see it…. It's just really annoying and takes extra time for them to come and then come back, and each time i had to explain what i need…then they would wait till i write my launch code on EACH new page they would bring EACH TIME…

    anyways…. thanks guys! 🙂

Is it possible for you to write smaller to conserve some space and avoid having to get so many pages? The noteboards are large enough that I would imagine that you should only have to switch them out once, maybe twice at the most (if you even have to switch them out at all). Hopefully, your test center isn't giving you smaller pages than they should be. Regardless, I agree with mrogovitz to just get up and go ask.

I raise my hand once I use all of the space on one of the noteboards..this way I can focus on my test better.

When I was taking my exam on Monday, I had the 2 laminated sheets and the proctor kept walking around the room, all the way to the back where I was too. At first it was distracting, like I thought he was going to say something to me, or I was doing something wrong. After a while I realized he was going to keep doing it so I just tuned him out. By the time I got to my SIMS my scratch sheets were pretty used so the next time he came around I asked him for another and I had to exchange. So if you have stuff you want to keep, like acronyms or whatever, keep those on one sheet just in case!

They're dry-erase boards. I think you're allowed two tissues or something like that so get a tissue and wipe it clean. Saves you time not having to wait for a proctor who might not see you raising your hand.

I wouldn't count on being able to keep one of your dry-erase boards if you want to save things such as acronyms on one of them. I had to turn in both of my boards before they'd give me another.

You're incorrect, @littlenumberrobot. You can't bring your own tissues but you can get tissues FROM Prometric and bring them into the testing room.

    From Prometric.com:

    7. You are allowed to bring soft ear plugs or center-supplied tissues in the test room.

My sheets had graph paper like lines on them. I was kind of grateful for that because I tend to write big, especially when I have no lines to confine my writing… Lol. Maybe ask when you are checking in what the protocol is for the sheets. My guy wouldn't give me one without giving one up. I was writing a lot on my first testlet, because that is another way I try to make sure I'm RTFQ, by writing down what I perceive to be key facts. I had about half a blank sheet when I traded in. I just didn't want to feel cramped for space while doing my sims.

I tell you, prometric go through a whole lot to keep people from cheating or bringing in cheat sheets. when I was in high school ( along time ago) some of my friends was trying to teach me to cheat on the exam, by the time we finished finding ways to hide the answers, I had really learned the information…….just a little lol, because no tissue, clear plastic bags with unwrapped candy, mints, or gum. No watches, glass cases, frisking, magnetic searches, picture id, id with signatures, finger prints, etc….I really feel like a suspected terrorist trying to get on a plane…..but it's what the test taking world has come to.
