Seasonal Tax Preparer Salary?

Does anyone have an idea on how much someone would get paid to do taxes as a CPA during the tax season? I am thinking of what I want to do in several years (say in 5 – 7 years) and had the idea to do taxes during tax season, and then something else during the other part of the year. Do accounting firms normally look for seasoned tax preparers and are they paid a decent amount? I can’t seem to find a salary or hourly wage for just working the season and not whole year. Does anyone have any information on this subject or where I could find more information? Thanks!

I heard they don't get paid much. Around $10/hour.

Depends on experience. I made $14 an hour my first year doing it. Second year I made $20. I have seen postings that say $25-35 per hour based on experience.

If I had to, for the first tax season I would work for FREE just for the experience.

No way you only get $10/hour unless your in some veryyy rural city or something. Easily $20/hour for tax prep for a CPA. Either way only having to work a few months a year sounds sweet!!
