Should I go for two parts in one window?

I took BEC at the beginning of the current window and got a 71. I’m pretty confident I can pass with just a little more studying. A few months ago I took AUD and just completely gave up. I read through the Wiley book and only did 100-200 MCQs and ended up with a 55 so I’m pretty sure I could pass that one easily too with a little more effort.

So here’s my question. Do you think it’s possible to attempt two in the 4th quarter window? It gives me 2-3 months of studying.

Here’s some other useful stuff to help. I work 40 hours a week, go to the gym 3 days a week, and have to get 8 hours of sleep a night.

    BEC-51,71,70,77
    AUD-50,62,68 (retake july)
    REG-55
    FAR-15(didnt study)

YES! I took BEC the very beginning of the 4th quarter last year and AUD the very end. If you really put in the effort you can and will pass them both!

    Good luck!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

2-3 months? yeah if you have 2 – 3 months. You slack off, something comes up and breaks your schedule then you are going to be in trouble. Honestly, I would recommend you studying 1 at a time but your score that was so close to passing for bec convinced me that it is possible for you. 75% for Audit 25% Bec seems like a nice ratio to start out with.

Still though, you should understand that this is not ideal.

Yes! I studied for AUD and took it October 1st ish and then took one day off and jumped into BEC and took it around November 20 last year and passed them both! I would not recommend studying for two at once but taking two in the same quarter is doable especially if you make a study schedule and stick to it!

I sat for Audit on 4/16 and BEC on 5/31 and pulled off 2 passing sections in 1 quarter. Audit lends itself well into BEC, there are many overreaching topics like Corporate Governance, Internal Control, IT in a small scale (think of Audit IT as an intro to BEC IT) etc.

Was it very stressful and slightly insane? Yes. Was it awful studying for audit retake 4 through the filing deadline? Yes, I worked 28 days straight through 4/15 BTW…no fun. Did I spend the entire memorial day long weekend guzzling coffee and chained to my desk in my office studying for BEC 8-12 hours per day? Yes. Was it fun? Absolutely not but it was 1000% worth it! 🙂 I work 50-55 hours per week, try to stay healthy, sleep 7-8 hours per night. Check out the Early/Lunch/Late for suggestion on how to pack in 3-4 per day during the week! 8-10 hours on weekends…no exceptions.

You can do it with determination and proper planning!!!!! 🙂

Sure you can, it's not that bad. I do two sections a week with Becker and I'm doing three sections in this testing window. I work full time and have a family, so it can definitely be done!

You could even do three if you wanted. Take FAR on October 1 (study from today until September 30), then take AUD on November 1, then BEC on November 30. Then take REG on January 1. A lot of my friends took 3 parts in one window. It's definitely doable.

I doubt I could. It took REG once already and I dragged it out over 3 months so I probably wouldn't do much better with FAR. Thanks for the encouragement though!

One piece of friendly advice, don't approach BEC with the attitude that you need “a little more studying”. You need to start from scratch as if you never took it before. The exam will be a completely new exam that you've not seen before and you're setting yourself up for failure if you think you only need 4 more points. You actually need 75 more points.

As one who's retaken a part multiple times, please trust me on this.

Right now I'm working on 3 exams in one window… set your mind to it and you'll make it happen.

    A - (07/02/2013) Passed
    R - (10/17/2013) 73 - Rematch

I'm working full time right now and I sat for 3 in one window and manage to pass 2. It is possible! I also go to the gym 4-5x a week and have somewhat of a social life( go out of fri and sometimes sat). But I do miss sleep my sleep, I am only getting about 6 hours a day at most.

    #429132

@kevlee – I'm envioius! You managed to do all that and still get 6 hours of sleep?!

I failed both BEC and AUD on my first attempt. For the second attempt, I scheduled both about a week apart from each other and passed.

I work 40 hours a week, go to the gym 5 times a week, and sleep about 7 hours a night.

Give it a shot. At worst, you'll be out the $300 to schedule the extra exam.

    Passed all sections.
