Should I include the internship in resume?

I did my internship at a Global 6 firm but didn’t receive an offer. I got 3 reviews, 2 good ones (4/5) and a bad one (2/5), which surprised me. I was on 2 engagements. I hate to say that, but the senior of the first engagement was very hard. She gave me the bad review and I didn’t know it until the last day. My second engagement was actually much more challenging than the first one. There were two seniors and they both gave me 4.

On the last day, they told me there’s no offer for me. They just said it was not a good fit. Here comes the question. Should I include this internship in resume or not? I got a feeling that people don’t like to hear explanations.

    Many thanks!!

Presuming this is the only accounting work experience you have, definitely still include it on your resume. Not every internship ends in an offer, but presuming you still learned through the internship, it was still a valuable experience. When discussing it in interviews, focus on what you learned, and try to avoid even discussing why you didn't get an offer. The fact you're not working there will be evident, but it shouldn't be a matter of discussion. If someone asks why you're not still working at XYZ Firm, I'd just say something along the lines of “It was a 3-month internship, and unfortunately its 3 months came to an end; however, I really enjoyed the experiences I had there” etc. etc.

Thank you so much, Lilla and Track55. Um, it was my first audit experience. I worked as an administrative assistant for a year and a staff accounting for a year.
