    Hey everyone,

I am in a weird situation. I have been studying FAR since the beginning of December, and feel like I’m relatively prepared to take the exam. I would like to take FAR this week or next, BUT, the Texas State Board has not approved my letter of intent to take the exam. They said a week or two last Wednesday, but who’s know when they will tell me. I would like to take AUD at the end of February, but I don’t know if I should start studying for it while waiting. Should I continue studying for FAR and start studying for AUD so I can take the exam at the end of February? Alternatively, I could study REG Feb and March after taking FAR.

    What do you guys recommend?

I have an average score of 81%, and an average trending score of 73.60%. I’ve been using Becker and listening to the Ninja Audio.

    FAR 91
    REG 78
    AUD 85
    BEC 90

    I"M DONE!!!

I don't recommend that you try to learn audit before you have used the FAR info that you are stockpiling. As soon as I take a test and start studying another exam I lose about 50% of what I learned previously. Your mind can only hold short term information for so long. If you start learning audit stuff, you will begin to forget the FAR stuff.

Instead I suggest you keep working on FAR. Make sure you know as many journal entries as humanly possible and know the F/S, what goes on them and how to reconcile information. The Becker sims are pretty good … some people say that they are easier than the exam, but mine were on par with them, so you might get lucky.

i agree with the above reasons to not study for both right now. in addition, a stronger foundation in FAR will help with audit – audit depends on knowledge of accounting principles in order to adhere to auditing, attest and review standards. essentially, studying for audit doesn't include a review of those principles, the review materials i have seen assume you already have it. you are studying for audit when you study FAR, if that makes you feel better. so, don't throw out your FAR notes!!!
    good luck!

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 76
    REG - 88

If you want things to change you have to do something different.

    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
