Should I Switch Review Materials?

    What’s Up Ninjas!?

    Okay… I know this question must come up a lot. I was hoping to get some insight and personal experiences on this one. So, should I switch my review materials?

    I have passed three out of four parts, and have taken REG (my final section) twice already. What worries me is that I am not even coming close to a passing mark. When I first took it, I rushed and got a 59. The second time around I took my time and got a 63. Needless to say I am stunned, especially after walking out so confident.

    I haven’t really changed my studying style much and I am currently using Gleim to review. This being my final window before I loose a part, I am considering an intense review course with Becker or it’s equivalent with another company. Is this a bad plan? I am willing to say its me and not the review material, but like I said I haven’t changed my study habits and have already passed three sections.

    @Crafty

    I'm using Bisk for AUD, and even when the system is not bad at all (the MCQ rocks and one of the tutors there is amazing), I feel is A LOT (for me, for my personal way of study), not focusing really in the key points (to optimize the study time) as Roger did it so well. They give you everything, but in the everything, is easy to get lost and to study in not efficient manner.. (my opinion only)

    I think Gleim and Bisk are similar in that sense. If for you is not working, then definitely change reviews would be the option.

    This time be careful and chose what it fits you.. Probably you can watch some videos on line of some review programs and read here some comments..

    Wish you good luck!

    If you like your current materials, maybe you just need a little extra reinforcement to get you over the hump– the Ninja 10 Pt Combo (or 10 Pt Combo Lite, if you don't need WTB) could be just what you need. The audio is great– you can listen in your car.

    Have you tried the Ninja method (especially writing notes, then rewriting notes) at all? That might help, too.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
    FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

    Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂

    I am sure you can pass with your current review course. I will say that a second review course sometimes makes things that you've stared at for dozen's of hours appear new and more exciting. It's seems like that effect will help with the learning process. After passing 3 exams with the same review material you can probably get that “first day of class” feeling if you unwrap a nice new review course. Roger has a reasonable deal for people who have tried a different review course and failed. I've liked working with cpaexcel for audit. I like Becker too despite their greedy cocky pricing structure.

    I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

    "Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"
