Simulation Grading?

Does anyone know if the Sims are graded only by a computer system or if a person actually grades some of them?

I just took REG and for one Sim I put zeros in all of the blanks that I didn’t use (can’t describe what the sim was actually on due to disclosure rules) and I now I am hoping these will not count against me, because I know in the Becker final exams it is all or nothing.

According to the AICPA, the SIMs are graded using a computer only (except BEC if you're in the bubble). I'm not sure if they will count it as correct or incorrect because you did or didn't put zeroes, but I assume (and really hope) that it's a much more advanced technology than Becker uses for grading SIMs. Becker would mark SIMs wrong on FAR practice tests if I put the debits and credits in the wrong order for a journal entry. I can't imagine that the AICPA would have a system like that.

Oh wow…one would think they would have a more advanced grading system…shoot I should of just left the squares blank. I guess I shouldn't complain until the scores come out though.

The AICPA doesn't have a system like that. The computer makes sure the amounts, accounts and columns are correct. The JE's don't have to be in any particular order and you are not penalized for getting one wrong. So if you put zeros in all of the unused boxes but recorded the correct debits and credits, then you will get full points.

On the real test, they usually give you good instructions for what they want– if they say to put zeros in, and you don't, then you're leaving points on the table. But they don't take off points for wrong answers, so if you put zeros in when they didn't ask for them, it won't matter.

    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I was doing this ninja SIM, it was FIFO or LIFO, I was given a table with sales/purchases. I have no problem with calculating the inventory, but I couldn't understand the way the total column had to be filled out. I got all the answers right, but got 52% because the total column amounts were in different order.
