skipping sampling

I can’t seem to wrap my head around the sampling chapter on Becker. How negatively will it effect me if I decide to skip this part? I have a general idea of the topic but when it comes to the computation portion I’m completely lost. I was never good at math in school and I’m so far removed from school at the moment.

I think if you understand the concepts without the math you should be fine.

It's not hard math, just have to follow how it computed.

FYI – in the real world the audit sampling programs do this for you.

There are so many topics in AUD I wish I had skipped, sampling being one of them.

Waste of time. Just know the conceptual stuff and the different methods. No need to know how to actually execute.

    REG - 81
    BEC - 83
    AUD - 86
    FAR - 78 (Done!)

If you truly cannot grasp them then don't waste your time. If you have a chance to revisit it after you get through the material maybe it will click then, but like others have said, it isn't a huge deal.

Or just skip like everyone says and hope there isn't a SIM for it 🙂

I heard in general that sampling wasn't heavily tested, which 100% held true for my exam. Don't worry about the crazy math stuff. At a max, MAYBE you'll have one like that? But most likely you won't. I had like 1 basic sampling question. The only issue skipping it could cause you would be if you were to get a SIM that required you to understand sampling. But maybe you'd be able to look that up in the code. I don't remember if that stuff is in the AL or not. On the 3 exams I've taken so far, theres always been at least one topic/sub-topic that I've just accepted to take a hit for. As long as you study everything else sufficiently, a few topics won't cost you a fail. Maybe if you're at that 74/75 borderline. But one topic won't cause you to be there. FAR I skipped all of F10 and a lot of gov/NFP but was solid everywhere else. Audit I couldn't wrap my head around a lot of the crazy stuff in R4 or GAGAS and turned out in the high 90s.

    AUD: 98
    REG: 91
    BEC: 86
    FAR: 83

DONE DONE DONE and DONE all on the first try! It IS possible, just keep on studying!

I actually had a SIM on sampling, so I guess it really depends. Wasn't anything out of this world, but then again I don't think I've struggled with this topic much to begin with. I'd leave it for your review session and try to understand it as best as you can – but don't stress too much, as others said it's just one topic.

Gonna jack this thread…would studying Ninja Notes for this topic suffice for the exam?

    FAR - 75 (2/25/16)
    AUD - 80 (4/8/16)
    REG - 80 (6/10/16)
    BEC - 79 (7/19/16)

You only get one shot with the spirit bomb.
