   i applied for a position at an accounting firm, not one of the big 4, but maybe number 6 or 7.... a basic staff accountant position for college graduates...

   so i get this email from the recruiter stating that my "experience and expertise do not match what they are looking for."

   now, being as frustrated as i am, i asked a simple question, "what experience and expertise are required for a position that requires no experience or expertise?"

   of course i did not receive an answer, so i can only assume i am over qualified. lol.

   BEC: Done
   REG: Done
   AUD: 74!!! ARRGHHHH!!!!! comparable/comparable you gotta be kidding me?!?!

   i have 11 years of financial services experience anywhere to bank management to investment advising to mortgage to being an investment sales coach.

   i have absolutely no experience in accounting working for an accounting firm.

   i cant get a job as an experience professional because i dont have my CPA yet and i have no experience in an accounting firm. i cant get a job as an entry level staff position because i am 29 and have years of experience, not some kid coming out of some big name school and 22 years old.

   its a real headache right now.

   You are wrong. Those are not the reasons why you cannot get a job. The #1 reason why you, or anyone else for that matter cannot get a job is because of the extremely horrible economy.

   The absolute #1 attribute to getting a job right now - knowing someone who can help you out.

   yea, i figured that much as well... but i highly doubt that even with knowing somebody it is very unlikely it will still happen... even though most of the firms are hiring right now.
