I always take at least one, usually two breaks between testlets. It's because I down a 20oz red bull before the exam.

Never. Ever. Ever. I paid too much for these exams to not use every second on the exam. I use the bathroom twice (at a minimum) before I walk in the room.

I take 2 breaks every exam: Once between 2nd and 3rd MC testlet and once before the sims. IMO the breaks provide a great mental break from the exam.

one break per exam. usually before 3rd if I need to go, otherwise, quick break before sims. As someone else has said it provides for a much needed mental break. I'm usually somewhat absent minded or shell shocked walking to the can/locker, my mind is still in front of the screen. I take a sip of something and head back in to finish the battle.

I took a bathroom break before the sims on FAR and AUD but not BEC. I plan not to take a break on REG either. I was signed out for less then 5 minutes each time.

I always have to take a break, sometimes 2. I have to eat a snack so my blood sugar doesn't get low and I usually have to go to the bathroom at some point. I think much better with even blood sugar and no potty dance distractions, so it's a value-added use of my time for sure.

But I do not plan to do that with BEC or REG, since they are shorter.

Uhartsoccer, you reminded me of how I limited my fluid intake leading up to an exam so that I didn't have to sit uncomfortably having to piss after an hour into it. Never worked anyway – always spent a solid 60+ seconds standing in front of a urinal afterwards
