I am in Alabama and have never heard anyone talk about an Ethics Exam but I keep seeing it on people’s signatures and whatnot.

I am currently waiting on what could be my last section and am curious… I have met all of the other requirements for a state license (except all four sections)…. I just didnt want to get blindsided with something else…

In CA we have an Ethics exam after all the CPA exams are over. It is part of our licensing path. I would think it would be the same for other states as it is set forth by AICPA(or so I think)

The state board website has all the info, it is just a pain to find anything sometimes!!

I don't believe it is required for all states. A friend of mine recently finished all the exams and just received her certificate and she didn't take an ethics exam.

@bnrhilton – There isn't an ethics exam for Louisiana. We have to have a certain number of CPE hours every few years in ethics.

First of all, good luck with your score today. Secondly, you might not have to worry about the ethics exam. Using the same document that was posted above, the exception to the rule is that if you took parts of the exam after 2004, then it looks like you are exempt from the ethics exam.

Yeah, I am exempt from the Ethics Exam in Alabama… but if (when) I move back to Texas, I think I have to take it… ugh, oh well
