First off, congratulations on passing the CPA exam. It is a big deal and you are probably still excited over it.

After getting your final score the first step is to pick yourself up off the floor and check the score again. After you finish running down the street while screaming and yelling for joy you should go back home. Just kidding.

After passing my final section I had to apply for my license. This included filling out a bunch of paperwork that the Texas state board sent (I cheated and downloaded all of it long before they mailed it). After sending it in and they processed it I received another package of forms to fill out. This included my work experience and ethics exam. As part of this paperwork I also had to take a three hour ethics course. I just found a place online that had the Texas ethics course and banged it out one afternoon. After printing my certificate of completion and doing the ethics exam included in my paperwork I mailed the whole set to them. A couple of weeks later I received a letter stating I was fully approved and gave me a license number.

The whole process took about 60-70 days from the time I received my final score. Most of this time was waiting on the state board and the postal service. It would have been longer had I waited on the forms to come in the mail versus going online and gotten the forms myself.\n
