Okay, I just got home from taking FAR. Don’t ask unless you enjoy the sounds of stabbing and screaming.
Anyway, I took a break between MCQ and SIMS and the woman behind the reception desk told me that they had to open yesterday (Sunday, Nov 29). She said Prometric is never open on Sunday, but they had to accommodate all the CPA candidates who couldn’t get an available appointment before the window closed.
WTF? I asked her how that happened, she said she didn’t know, but that location had volunteered to open. I was pretty brain dead by that time and I couldn’t make sense of what she was saying. I asked her how candidates would know that there were seats on Sunday and she said, “they wouldn’t.” Again, WTF?
I’m old school. It wouldn’t occur to me to call up Prometric and complain that there were no more seats available. I would just drive to another location that had availability (as I’ve done in the past) or just assume I was SOL and take the next available appointment in the next window.
Has this happened to anyone? Have you gotten a Special Secret Sunday Seat? Please tell me how this happens.
