Started studying after applying…. now losing momentum

Over the past 3 days I have been having such a difficult time keeping my momentum up. Every morning I wake up and log in to the CA website to see if my application has been approved. No change. I applied in September!!!! With the hope of scheduling FAR in November.

But, my first application was denied because a transcript of mine listed incorrect personal information.

Now I have contacted the school, and the corrected transcript was recieved by CA 4 weeks ago.

Since Sept. I have changed my test taking plan and hope to tackle BEC first, then AUD, FAR and REG.

I’ve been studying BEC for 6 weeks and I am slowly losing drive. I would like to test in JAN, but I haven’t even been approved yet, much less received a NTS and try to schedule.

Should I just hold off on studying until I’m approved?

Tough call. I'm sorry this process has not been so smooth for you. How far are you in BEC?

I think that you should continue studying since you might get approved/the NTS very shortly. Once you stop, it's not always so easy to get back into study mode and you've already spent several weeks on BEC. Depending on how well you're doing in your studies, perhaps you can slow down the pace a bit if you've covered a lot of ground, and pick it up again as you get closer to exam day. Otherwise, just keep on working on those mcqs… lectures… booksnotes… and hopefully you'll get approved soon and receive your nts and be able to schedule the exam shortly!

    Thank you ACCT!

I am going to just keep pushing through with the hope that everything is fine and I will receive my approval soon.

I'll be finished with the material next weekend and will be reviewing and killing the MCQs until test day 🙂 Hopefully Jan 4.

Do you know all of the things you do even when you REALLY don't want to…..like go to work, wash dishes, shovel snow, etc.

This is just like those. Even when you have no motivation and no drive, you do them anyway because you have to.

And def call your board to make sure your new information is exactly what they needed/wanted. Being unsure of your status can't help.

@mocalakatie – Just curious… What does “wE” stand for?

    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

@kandisjoy, I'm guessing that is supposed to just be an E to stand for Ethics and mocalakatie just fat-fingered the “w” in. Either that or an enthusiastic whatEVER! lol

@KasiaS – Thanks, I thought the E might be ethics too… Just not sure about the w. 🙂

    Thanks MLA!

    Re: the signature

E is for ethics. Just added the w to spell “we” followed by “R” “FAB”…. because we are fab! I know, it's cheesy, but it makes me smile 🙂

I'm so excited to join the club officially. Hopefully I will still be able to get my NTS in time to sit Jan 4. for BEC 🙂

    Thanks for advice and encouragement!

    Thanks Kasia 🙂

PS I read the entire Red Panty day thread… and you can guess what I would like for Christmas!

My very own pair(s) of exam day lucky red panties!!!!

If you don't mind my asking, what culture is that a tradition of?

Haha! And so the Red Panty Revolution lives on!

It's a Polish tradition. The full deal ia that you wear red underwear and get someone to kick your butt (

Literally) on the day of the senior final exam called Matura. My mom always kicked me either the night before or the morning of the exam. I forgot to mention that in the original ritual thread. I just learned about the kick when I started the CPA journey so part of me thinks my mom just wanted to kick my butt lol but I've been using the panties since high school and they never failed!
