    Hello everyone,

I am starting my studies for AUD and i have Becker software what do you suggest for me as a starting point for my studies because i heard from friends that i should focus first on answering MCQs.

    AUD 76
    BEC 63,68 (29/8/2012)
    FAR 63(2/8/2012)
REG Hope that it will be on November 2012

I would go through the lectures first and complete the relevant MCQs after viewing each section. After you have completed all the lectures I would then go ahead and really focus on MCQs. I think focusing on MCQs after you have developed a solid understanding of the topics is more effective.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 76
    REG - 75

I agree with m.howard's advice. Also, do enough SIMS to make sure you're comfortable with the format and type of problem you're likely to see, but don't worry about studying them. I don't think practicing SIMS beyond this is productive. You never know what problems you're going to see on the test so you're better off solidifying your knowledge of the material and doing MCQ is probably the best way to accomplish this.

    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I agree with Kb24 about practicing enough SIMS to feel comfortable.

I felt comfortable after redoing the Simulations 3 times from the following:

AICPA sample practice, Becker , and WILEY.

But I also recommend you to practice the Research section of the exam. I used them to solve two of the simulation sections for my exam (You will eventually find some answers from research if you have enough time on your exam).

    Good luck!!

What do you guys think about reading Wiley's book? I used Becker for BEC and REG, and now I am switching to Yaeger for AUD. I do found out that the Wiley's book is extremely difficult to follow comparing to Becker's book. Sometime I would read on and on, and only retain a very few points. It would be very helpful if someone can share some insights on how did you use Yaeger for AUD. Personally, I listen to the lecture, then follow along with class MCQ, then redo the MCQ since it goes rather fast in the lecture, then back to book try to read and understand more.

This is not working well for me…so please share if doing things differently works for you.

    Thanks!

zyt2785, I would also try to do as many MCQ in the Wiley DVD test bank as possible. You will find a big similarity to the actual exam. I also gathered some notes online and read over it a few times to get familiar the main topics. I'll be glad to send it to you if you leave your email. GL!

Pretty good advice. I took AUD in Feb and really concentrated on the MC and kind of reviewed the practice SIMS but that was it. Did pretty well. Becker does a very good job with AUD. The flashcards were pretty good for AUD too

    BEC - 86
    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89

So…I am taking AUD on Aug 24th. Anyone think 2.5 months is TOO much time to study? Should I hold off another week or two?

I just started studying today and I take it July 1st, I have becker materials.

My plan is to first watch the lectures for each sub-section one by one, skim the material, read ancillary material once, do about half of the MCQs and simulations, then review flash cards. After attacking each sub-section, I am going to watch the lectures for a particular section straight through to get an overview and reinforce the material. Then I will work ALL the MCQs so some are new and some are a review. After that take the 2 final exams and do the final review material.

Any suggestions from anybody who has taken the exam?

    B - 85 (5/31/11)
    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)

Sounds like a good plan. The only suggestion I have is that you include the ancillary material in your review. I felt that Becker classified too much material as ancillary. It was worse with REG and BEC, but there was still quite a bit w/ AUD. As long as you make sure you've reviewed all the material on the CSO outline, you should be OK.

    Good luck!!!

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80

WhyMe23 – I am using Becker and taking AUD July 1st as well. Good luck! It seems these lectures go by a lot faster than the previous sections.

    FAR, BEC, REG - Passed
    AUD - ? (7.1)

Ivall1700, thanks! good luck to you too. I am just getting through AUD 1 and have been scoring well on the questions (haven't tried any SIMS yet). It seems somewhat confusing which paragraphs you change for each opinion but im sure i'll get it down. ISA's are annoying too im wondering how much international stuff will be on the actual test.

Moving on to AUD 2 later today, the amount of material is definitely less than BEC which is good. Audit sure is boring though.

    A - 93 (7/1/11)
    R - 87 (7/29/11)
    F - 77 (8/31/11)
