Hello,
I’ve been frequenting this CPA exam review forum since February when I started my CPA journey. After passing my first CPA exam (Regulation), I decided it was time to create an account and become more involved with the CPA community around the world. With that said, I’m a 23 year old kid who just received a Bachelor’s in Accounting (and a minor in Communications). I was fortunate to land a job offer with one of the Big 4 prior to my graduation ceremony! I am placed in Assurance and will start next month. I’m looking for anyone out here who can shed some insight as to what I can expect on my first few weeks as I begin!
I have received e-mails as to completing my onboarding tour, as well as where I’ll be flying to for orientation and for training. I am determined and motivated to go far in the public accounting industry. I have many leadership positions from fraternities, notably including Delta Sigma Pi and Beta Alpha Psi, the premiere accounting fraternity. However, I have never had any accounting related job experience, and all I’ve done for money is being a cashier in retail.
Will I be expected know things from day 1? Is it a steep learning curve or is it basically like training monkeys to do work at Big 4? Any general advice or tips would be appreciated! Thank you and I look forward to being a part of this wonderful community.
Sincerely,
andreatEY
(P.S I just took BEC this weekend so this is like a WC for me xD)
