    Hi jeff,

first of all Thanks a lot for putting all the useful information about CPA in one site.

I have a question related to choosing state board.

I have completed bcom(3 yr) + mcom(2yr) from India in accounting and business statistics and would like to persue CPA. I want to do CPA for my credentials only as i have no intention to stay in USA and do practice there. As an international student could you suggest me which state board i should choose to qualify for exam.

For future international candidates: learn from my mistake and misunderstanding!

You can apply to numerous state boards, but make sure to avoid those that are non-NASBA states b/c it takes forever to get results back. I wish i knew this ahead of time 🙁

Here is list of non-NASBA states: https://www.another71.com/non-nasba-states/

    Question regarding official transcripts

Hey guys I would appreciate your insight. I wish to take my cpa and doing shopping for which state board to go with. The real problem is I graduated from a foreign country. My undergraduate was done partly in U.S and partly in a foreign country. The problem stems from the fact I can't provide official transcripts for the coursework done at the U.S school. I took little more than 60 credits in U.S and also took about 20 credits of business courses. Currently, I enrolled in a masters program in Accounting at a U.S school. Looking at my situation and knowing how state boards wants official transcripts from all institutions, which state board will be able to offer me some slack? Your thoughts are welcome folks.

@yoboy – Why can't you get official transcripts? What school did you go to?

Honestly it doesn't matter which school I went to. I owe my school some money. Obviously, I don't wanna pay that. Do you know of someone who got away with my situation? Your insight would be much appreciated.

Me thinks that you will need all official transcripts no matter what.

I had to pay translation & evaluation fees to have it in a form acceptable for the US.

Additionally, these were not accounting related grades as I've completed BS + MAcc in the US but they still wanted them for the overall credits I guess or just to extract more $$ from me 🙂
