Has anyone joined their state CPA society? What has your experience been? Is it worth it?

I got a free membership for the PICPA and just wanted to know how the networking events are. Tell me your experiences and if you have benefitted in any way from joining them and being active.

I am also a member of PICPA. it is worth every penny. I recently won a scholarship money for CPA exam in amount of $500. Their networking events are great. I've been to couple of them but due to studies and job I am unable to involve properly but I will attend more events once I am done with my exams. I would recommending joining their sub-committees. Last but not lease welcome to PICPA.
