I just finished taking my last section of the Exam and was wondering if each state recognizes top scores or if the national top 10 is it. I feel like I've someone say that states do that but I'm not sure and couldn't find anything about it on the State Board website.

offlineMemberI think some states recognize the candidates who achieve the highest cumulative score their first tries in a calendar year, but that's about it on the state level. It's possible they also recognize outstanding candidates, which would probably be similar to a top 10 ranking. I know my state does but I don't know about others.

offlineMemberNot that I'm in the running, but I am wondering about candidates who don't take the 4 exams within one calendar year but rather the end of one and the beginning of the next. Are these scores considered as well?

offlineMemberTop scores most likely depend on the state. I would assume the NY's, TX's, and CA's have a higher amount of candidates so the top scores for those states are probably higher. Average exam score is probably around 95-96+, cumulative being around 380-385. I have no data to back this up; merely an educated guess based on some of the scores I've seen other candidates posting.

Someone in NY - 390
Someone else, don't know where - 388
Someone else, don't know where - 389
Someone else, don't know where - 297, still waiting on BEC
Someone else in CO - 295, still waiting on BECI don't know about the states doing their own awards for top scorers. Never heard of that before - but hope this info helps a little.

offlineMemberNot that I'm trying to build myself up, but I think there might be some compensation from my employer if I can get some award, so this thread has started to interest me. I had:
BEC - 87
FAR - 98
AUD - 99
REG - 97Cumulative: 381
I thought I had read somewhere else that you probably needed a 390 to get the Watts Sell Award, so I think I'm probably out of the running for that. I had hoped maybe there was a state award, but I didn't see anything on my state board's website. I guess I'll just have to wait. For those people in TX and CA, is it the state board or the state society that gives your state awards?
