I’m taking FAR on July 9 and I’m using Ninja as a review (did Wiley textbook questions first and have Becker book as reference). With Ninja MCQ’s, I have 70% correct and trending 66% (wish I could attach screenshot). When I counted up the number of questions remaining, it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 500. But I also want to budget time to do sims and review key areas the Becker instructors said were essentials. I know some people only did MCQ’s and passed but if I do so many in a row, I tend to fall into the rut of memorizing the answer (hence, throw some sims in the mix). To make matters worse, I want to to jump out a window when I make the same dumb mistakes on some of the same questions.

I’m not too sure I can do everything on the Ninja plan at this point but don’t think extending the date will help (been at this for 3 months). How much time should I split between sims and MCQ’s.

    FAR 57 (11/2014), 64 (1/2015), 79 (7/2015)
    AUD 68 (2/2015), 79 (11/2015)
    REG 79 (1/2016)
    BEC 81 (4/2016)

I went through chapters of key areas I was missing while using becker. Rewrite notes and continue with your MCQs. Most say hammer MCQs but making sure you understand the key areas like bonds and leases of Govt will give you a leg up when you see the questions. If you are memorizing answers, is it because you know the steps to get there or that you know this is X but don't really know why? I got to a point where I knew some questions pretty good and knew how to get to an answer.

Practice sims were helpful for FAR so you know some basic understanding of walking through a problem. I will say only 1 of 6 problems, excluding the research sim, had I seen the format which was a simple JE. The others sort of stumped me but I got a first answer down, made sure I had answers for the rest of the sims, then went back through where I was somehow able to see the questions better and I think answer correctly.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

With some problems I memorized, there I some where I know the steps and others where I know the answer but forgot how to do it. Maybe I should keep track of how many but that's not my main concern. It's more obvious when I don't know why the answer is correct with math problems than with conceptual ones.
