Study FAR no SIMS

    Hi All.

I recently took Audit in May using Becker drilling MC questions and using Ninja Notes. I spent pretty much no time practicing SIMS other than familiarizing myself with the format.

For anybody that had a similar experience to me, would this approach work for FAR?

My feeling is that since the SIM topics are hit or miss I am better off reviewing the common JE that I may see on the exam.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just my opinion, if you know the material well enough, don't waste time studying SIMS. I haven't studied a single SIM yet.

My take on the Sims is this: Yes, studying tons of sims most likely will not “directly” help you get your simulations correct. However, I have found that studying the simulations simply helps you learn the material better. I remember putting off simulations for REG and towards the end of my studies I nailed out 10 or so. I was surprised how many concepts that were up in the air were solidified by practicing the simulations.

So I would recommend attempting at least some simulations, as it can end up providing a different perspective on many of the topics. But i know that doing simulations are definitely more draining. So I would maybe schedule you simulations during your “peak” study hours. I am a morning person. So the last thing i want to do late at night is attempt a simulation. So I would rather move on to the next study unit at night and hit up a couple simulations hard in the morning.

    Best of luck!

    Reg(5/16/14) - 86
    FAR(7/18/14) - 82
    BEC(11/14) - 85
