Does anyone get attached to their study material after a while? I passed AUD over a year ago but I still reserve them as if they’re gold.

I’m studying for REG now. I got a good session in today and I was holding the pages of notes written today like a poker hand lol Small victories to keep you from losing your mind, I guess

    Keep on trucking everyone!

I'm the opposite. I threw my notes away after passing AUD. It helps give me some extra motivation to pass all 4 exams within the 18 months because I would have to start completely over since my notes are gone.

Yeah, I had a grand ceremony at the fireplace for all of my AUD material. It was very liberating – each flash card went in one by one and I even started tearing each page out of my manual, but that got boring, so I just threw the whole book in =P I'm using the same notebook as I had for AUD, but once it's full (which I expect to happen at some point mid-FAR), it will meet the same fate.

    AUD: 82
    FAR: 78
    BEC: 75
    REG: 8/1 score release!!

I don't think I am capable of throwing away any material before I successfully completed all four parts. It would make me way to nervous. But once that day comes it will be gone. Becker doesn't have to worry about me loaning it to a friend because it will meet its fate with a bon fire of epic proportion as well.

I'm using my Becker books as target practice tomorrow.

I did get unhealthily attached to the highlighter I got from Becker though. When it finally ran out, I refused to throw it away and had a little panic attack because it was kind of like my good luck charm.

I can understand not throwing away the materials. I saved all of my notes from grad school and just realized two weeks ago cleaning my office for tax season that I really don't need them anymore. I looked at my jumpdrive and kind of went down memory lane about how many nights I spent writing papers til the wee hour in the morning. In reality it is all a memory now which i want to feel when I pass the cpa exam. I ‘ve looked on line and e-bay to see if anyone was selling their books…not videos or software, but books. NO LUCK…No wonder I guess everybody had the same idea…burn em.

I get attached to all my accounting text books. I still have all mines from college so I know I'll keep the CPA exam books.

I'm saving all my books, printed notes, handwritten notes, printed NINJA notes, etc. EVERYTHING I have used so far is in a box in my closet.

My husband has already told me he's throwing me a party when I'm done which is going to include a wonderful CPA bonfire in the backyard. I cannot wait for the day when I can do that!!!!

I'll probably save my books. Paid too much for them to just burn them.

I've tossed notebooks full of notes already. If passed, I know that if I hold onto them I am holding I hold onto the chance I will need them again. I've gotta have more confidence in myself than that!

If I failed, I toss them anyway because obviously they didn't accomplish the task.

However, I kind of wish I had room for it all. Just to show my kids one day or anyone struggling with something what it takes sometimes.
