    Hi everyone,

So this is my first post on another71, and I’ve tried to research a lot on study time frames per section, and there are a lot of factors. Looks like everyone has a different opinion, however I’d like to get a general consensus for BEC so I can determine which date to test.

I just started studying this past weekend and I’m looking to take BEC either April 6th or 20th. That will give me 9 or 11 weeks, I work full time and am a single mom, so I’m working 2-3 hours per night, plus extra on the weekends. Does this seem sufficent? If not, any suggestions are very welcome – thanks so much!

When I first started, it was suggested by my review course to multiply the amount of hours of videos by 4 and that was a good target for total study time. For Yaeger, that came out to 200 hours for FAR, 80 hours for AUD (I think 80 hours is not enough, but this was the original suggestion), 160 hours for REG, and 100 hours for BEC. I have heard to target about 20 hours studying per week so I would do the math to get an idea of how many weeks to study. I used this just as a baseline for my study schedule and I piled on some hours because I'm somewhat of a slow studier (takes me a long time to get through videos with rewinding and note-taking).

    My actual revised schedule is as follows: FAR 12 Weeks @ ~25 hours/week, AUD 6 Weeks @ ~25 hours/week, BEC 6 Weeks @ ~25 hours/week, and REG 9 Weeks @ ~25 hours/week.

So far my schedule has worked out in my favor. Fingers crossed I have the same luck with REG as I did with the previous three sections.

I strongly suggest giving yourself extra study time for the first exam because you are learning the ropes and figuring out what works best for you. 12 Weeks for FAR was a lot but it was my first go-around and I had not ironed out my study plan. Now I consider myself to have a very set routine in how I study (video time, volume of notes, MCQ strategy, etc.)

Having said that, I think 9-11 weeks for BEC is plenty if you plan on dedicating about 20 hours a week to studying. That should be more than enough.

Best of luck to you on this journey!!! Welcome aboard to Another71. I do highly recommend the NINJA Notes… they have been a great study supplement for me and I think a lot of people on this site agree. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

    ETHICS - 2013 - PASSED

DONE!!! Thank you A71 for all the support! Hiya!!!

Thanks! I think this past week showed me that I have to increase the time I study each day – I've been a little lax, even skipping a few days. However, I am still on time, I'd just like to have extra time at the end for reviewing overall, rather than just the last section.
