Studying over the 4th of July

My test is on July 11th (exactly a week after the 4th of July) so of course, I’ll be studying. Anyone else doing the same? I am super bummed about it. I originally wanted to take my test on the 3rd but couldn’t get myself to focus the week I was supposed to start studying before scores came out, so now I’m paying for it. My plan is to put the Wiley Test Bank app on my iPad and do IT questions while I’m on the boat out on the lake (because those ones won’t require bringing a pencil, paper, and calculator) and then getting up early on Friday to get in a couple hours of practice tests. Ugh, the life of a CPA exam candidate!

My test is the 7/7 right after the holiday as well. I will be studying…no if ands or buts about it. I am bbqd out though, graduations, birthdays and memorial day holiday. So I am looking forward to sending the children without me. if my husband grill I will encourage him to keep it small….he loves company. Studying it is.

I'll be studying as well! Right now there are BBQ plans in the afternoon. I'll see if I can get away from the prep-work and study all day…

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

I'll be right there w/ y'all eating BBQ in an office chair, stains all over my t-shirt, staring at a computer screen w/ a calculator for FAR… the American dream!

My wife works, so I guess I'm stuck at my apartment either way because we only have one car haha. A good enough excuse to study as any.

    BEC 4/08/14 - 92
    FAR 5/31/14 - 90

I will be studying as well. I was also originally going to sit on 7/3 but postponed to take advantage of the long weekend. To top it all, after rescheduling, we found out that a very close family friend will be coming to town to visit along with his fiancee. The sole purpose of the trip for these friends is to spend time with my family. I will be studying at least 8-5 every day in my vacant office however.

I don't take REG until the end of august but my July 4ths always end up disastrous for some reason anyway so I'm staying in with titillating Roger Cram videos…

I feel your guys' pain. I originally took half a day on 3rd and the following Monday the 7th as I was planning on driving over to the west side of the mitten to spend quality time hanging out with the family, lay out on the beach, and watch fireworks over Lake Michigan for the 4th.

Looks like I'm about to stay as pale as ever with my FAR book though. It it is what it is. And at least I know I'm not the only person not partaking in the celebration. :/

    FAR - 78
    AUD - 85
BEC - 70, 83! Ninja note bump of 13 points!
    REG - 65, 70, 2016 Q1 retake before FAR expires 02/29/16

CPAexcel + Ninja Notes + Ninja MCQ = Success

Well, I'm glad other people feel my pain. The only plus to this is that my manager is on vacation next week and I'm waiting on a bunch of PBCs that won't be coming in for a few weeks so I can study most of next week. I am only going to have a week to review this stuff and I still have at least 5 more days to get through the rest of the material. Plus, I can't move my test back, regardless of whether or not I'm ready for it because I am getting on a plane at 6am the day after my exam, to go to Europe for work for two weeks. Yep…feeling the stress.

Doing questions on the boat is not going to be good boating or good studying

I think you should enjoy the 4th. Work Hard and Play Hard

My exam isn't until August 23rd and I'll be studying as well. lol.

Any “extra” time is study time. When I took FAR, it was 4 days after Memorial Day – didn't go to any barbecues that day!

Assuming that I won't have to work for quarter end I plan on studying half the day and taking the kids to a pool party/BBQ and to watch the fireworks the second part of the day. I will be studying all day Saturday and Sunday.

I'm with NJ, I'll be doing the same thing. I don't feel like taking FAR for a third time.

Using Ninja MCQ, NINJA Notes, Audio, Flashcards and BLITZ, and 2014 Wiley Text

    FAR - (61,63)
    AUD - (68)

Seriously, there is no way I'm failing BEC and losing credit for REG. There will be a lot more 4th of Julys to enjoy!
