Studying the NINJA way??

Ok, this question is for those of you that have studied using Jeff’s NINJA way of studying.

As evidenced by my scores below I failed AUD and BEC. Planning to retake them in Jan & Feb. I wanted to change up my study habits a bit to a) obviously pass and b) make things a little more interesting. In the past I went through all the lectures and immediately did the corresponding MC questions after watching each video. However, I HATE (hate is not even the word) MC questions and I often lost motivation midway through the process. I feel like Jeff’s method might keep my focus better. I use CPAexcel so they have a whole calendar of everything that I need to get through each day, which is nice because I am the type of person that needs a plan of attack.

Now I’m thinking about not following this calendar, but rather going through all the videos and taking notes, then doing MC questions and TBS until my eyes fall out after I finish all the videos, and then reviewing everything.

My question is though, how do you pace yourself with this method? If I want to give myself 5 weeks to study for AUD, when should I aim to be done with all of the videos? 2 weeks in? I’m curious to hear how you guys stay on track with this method. How long do you usually give yourself to do all of the MC questions (for instance, about 1,000 MC)? I just feel a little hesitant to go with this method because I don’t want to fall behind and then have to reschedule. Thoughts/comments/concerns are appreciated! Gracias 🙂

Everyone is different. I like to think I am going the NINJA route because I study by the ELL plan. My videos expired so I read, take notes, and do MCQ's. I use Roger and pick what sections I want done by when. Leaving usually 1 week or 2 for review. This is how I passed FAR(dont ask me how studied for the others lol). Maybe look how long the videos are, plan your study time out and see where that leaves you.

I used Jeff's ELL plan as well. I just made myself a schedule to study about 1 to 2 hours in the morning, 1/2 hour during lunch, then another 2 to 3 hours a night. Doing this I watched all the videos, didn't really make myself a goal of finishing them since on some chapters I took more notes than others. Once I was closer to the end of watching the videos, then I said to myself, ok if everything goes right I can be done watching videos by Friday and by the weekend I can start working on MCQs. Then after working a zillon MCQs then I rewrote the NINJA notes then reviewed everything.

Of course with having 2 daughters I had to make my schedule flexible. But every section I finished within 5 to 6 weeks in total. I think only FAR I took a little longer.

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!
