Some of the posts here are very funny, but it seems that most of you here are surrounded by people who are not very supportive of you. Well, my situation is quite different. My wife is most of the time is very supportive, only occasionally makes jokes like "do not you think you've studied enough in your life?" or "so, once you pass it, what is going to be next? law school?" She was even telling my four-year old son to be a bit more quite and not to make much noise. She used to take him out of the house on weekends knowing that I had to study.
My mother does not know much of what the CPA exam is like, she is also very supportive. Every so often she used to say "well, I hope you'll let me know when you get your score and whether it is a good news".
My friends are also very supportive. Of course, there are parties and invitations to these parties. Sometimes they call and say "Well, we know that you have to study, but we do not mind if you just stop by for an hour or so, or you can just eat with us, and then leave. You need to eat anyways, right?"
Also, many people were also trying to compare the difficulty of an actual exam with Becker exams. I never took a Becker exam, but I must say that the examples of the solved problems in Becker texts worked very well for me because the step-by-step calculations are so much easier to understand. Mnemonics in Becker are also priceless, especially for AUD.
There were also few posts about Yaeger CRAM courses. I previously purchased one Yaeger CRAM course, for AUD exam. The CRAM course was a shortened version of the full HomeStudy: AUD CRAM was about seven hours, while the full AUD course was about 13 hours. The difference is that some of the topics, covered in the full course, were omitted in the CRAM course.
====================================
FAR 97 - Yaeger
BEC 54 - Yaeger (I haven't studied variances, had problems with information technology and economics), 86 - Becker (studied IT auditing from Becker audit text)
AUD 74 - Yaeger (studied so hard, still did not pass), 75 - Becker (two more months out of my life, but i passed)
FAR 74 - Yaeger (couldn't much understand pensions, governmental accounting and options), 85 - Becker (I felt the exam was much more difficult than the one I took before, but I passed)
DONE!!
Order of difficulty: most difficult AUD BEC REG FAR least difficult
