    I am applying for schools in CA and NY for MBT. Could anyone who resides in NY give me some recommendation for business schools in NY? NYU and Columbia are the most prestigious ones, but they don’t offer the program that I am interested in. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hofstra is a decent school with a good graduate program. I know it's not nearly as prestigious as NYU or Columbia, but it is still a solid school nonetheless. LIU is also a decent school – again, not the most prestigious out there, but it still offers a strong accounting program.

    Not sure about schools in the city though. There are tons. I do know that Fordham and Pace are fairly good schools though and are worth looking into.

    I'm a hofstra alum and I'll definitely vouch for their program. Very good school.

    @Jobless2CPA

    I went to CUNY Baruch and did my undergrad in Accountancy, and finished my MS in Taxation this past summer. I strongly recommend their program. If you're looking to get into a public accounting firm, I strongly suggest Baruch as opposed to NYU or Columbia. Baruch has great recruiting events in which all the big name recruiting companies come into, and it's definitely more affordable.

    Thanks Excited CPA. NYU and Columbia only offer full-time and part-time MBA, so they are out of the question. As for CUNY Baruch, for some reason their undergrad program ranking is much higher than that of the graduate program–public school ranking for undergrad ranks number 5 (very high), whereas the graduate business school ranks number 97. (according to U.S. news graduate school ranking)

    I know Fordham is a pretty well recognized school. I don't know about their programs but would be worth taking a look into.

    CUNY Baruch is indeed better than NYU and Columbia in Accounting. TOP 25 ACCOUNTING GRADUATE PROGRAM (ranks 20) in the united states according to the Public Accounting Report 2012. I am applying. Thx guys.
