Hi, I am new to this forum. I have done my M.com( master in accountancy) as well as my b.com from India. I want to start with cpa. What do I need to do?

Do I need to evaluate my degree/ courses?

Whether I am eligible to sit for cpa exam or as I am not able to understand the credits courses, looks very complicated to me.

Is there different criteria, state wise to appear for the exam?

Any clues, which state would be best option for me, any suggestions

Hi xyz0619, I had ran threw the same problem when i started my CPA journey. I have pretty much same qualifications as you. I have a B.Com from India and Master in Finance from the UK.

You need to start with getting your international degrees evaluated from NASBA International Evaluation. It will cost about $200 something dollars. Then once you get the report from NASBA, apply from the cpacentral website for CPA registration. Be careful in selecting the state, every state has somewhat different requirements. I applied from NJ got rejected and then applied from PA and got accepted.

Which state are you planning to apply from?
