After some thought and consideration and counsel, I have decided to temporarily take a break from studying for the CPA exam. Without getting into specifics, I see no future with the company I am currently with. For now, I am just going to focus on finding another job, as well as trying to act like everything is normal and get along with everyone I work with in the meantime. Although I am very eager for my fourth and hopefully final attempt at REG, currently it is crucial for me to be on my best behavior and performance at my current job and remaining calm and act like nothing is wrong.

You gotta do what you gotta do. I took a year long break while I figured out what I wanted to do and eventually came back to finish this thing out. My only advice would be, if you don't like your job, don't let it take away something that will be very valuable down the road. Good luck!

I failed once a year ago with a 63. The worst part is I thought I was prepared and the whole test was brutal. Its one thing to know you're underprepared and fail but it's definitely a blow to your confidence to feel prepared and then fail that badly. I took an entire year off and then decided to come back and try again. Failing sucks but there is nobody in the world who is successful that didnt fail. I know that my CPA license is going to mean a lot more to me than somebody who passed all sections on the first try. It took a lot to come back after a whole year off and have to retake sections that I already passed because I let them expire. Don't give up- you'll regret it forever.

Don't make a knee jerk reaction on score release day. It's super emotional, you're exhausted and there should be a word stronger than frustrating. Do something this weekend that you LOVE, whether is camping or sitting on the couch binging on some tv series you've been missing. The point is to lose yourself in whatever you choose.

Then on Monday make a solid plan-whether it's studying or promising to get out 8 resumes a night. Trust me when I tell you that immersing yourself in the solution is better for you than being weighed down by the problem(s).
