Hi guys,

So AUD is my second exam I took FAR 4 months ago and luckily passed with an 82.

I might have underestimated AUD since I am going through my review and doing very poorly.

I have read through the WIley:CPA excel book and did all MCQ and SIMS. Never did too well on the MCQ though for the harder sections :Evidence, Reporting, Etc..

Anyways I am now reviewing each chapter and doing WTB MCQ. The reason why I am very scared is that my average score is a 63 percent… and still on Evidence section which is def bringing my score down.

I only have today and tomorrow to really study and I have about 500 MCQ left in the WTB. I see on the threads people were scoring 80’s and I am in the 60’s…

My plan is to obviously just crank out the 500 MCQ questions review the reporting, audit sampling, accounting & review services, and IT in Audit chapters while finishing the 500 MCQ.

Just wanted to know if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Stgeorge – Im on the same boat, im taking AUD too in two days and Im averaging 70-75 where evidence, sampling and IT areas are really giving me a little bit of a hard time. Just keep doing MCQ in those weak areas since it really hepls as we enter the last couple of days before the exam. This section is really about paying attetion to what the question is asking for and look for that one word or phrase that separates the right answer from the two possible answers. I wish I was averaging 70-75 lol, I am on the last 100 MCQ for evidence and overall i am at like 55% for evidence section… you are right though carefully reading the question is key. I just really want to pass so I can move onto REG….. Nothing I can do now but to just keep studying probably get in a good 16 hours before this exam.

Yes, I know exactly the feeling. That happended to me with FAR. I got stuck with FAR for a while that at the end I was so ready to move on to the next part. Just keep doing what you are doing. Is this your first section or have you taken other parts already?

@conquirpr41 I took FAR last Sept. and luckily passed with an 82 on my first attempt. I feel like a lot of the reason I get questions wrong is because I dont really know a lot of the accounting lingo/jar den that you should now while taking these exams.

I have about 450 MCQ questions left in WTB all for evidence, reporting, sampling, accounting&review, and IT. Basically been getting worse as I progress each chapter and my best section was engagement planning with an overall of 72..

I am just going through all the new MCQ I can attempt, trying to get a better understanding. I will probably start doing 30 mcq at a time with all types of questions once I finish my review. I might not complete all the MCQ for reporting since there are a lot and just try to do a random selection of all questions tomorrow over and over again to not forget old material.

Sigh… basically will try to get hopefully 8 more good study hours today and hopefully more than 8 hours tomorrow.

Make sure you have a thorough understanding of the varying levels of assurance provided by different services (comps vs reviews vs audits vs agreed upon procedures vs examinations vs consulting engagements….etc). Also make sure you have a pretty good understanding of professional standards and independence issues. Both of those categories have historically been tested heavily and a lot of times can be embedded into several questions. Good luck! And just remember, regardless of your performance, you're going to walk out of the test feeling unsure of yourself. Just do your best and trust that you put in the time.
