I’ve started reviewing since last Friday (Using Becker), but I just want to make sure I’m using my time effectively. I’m inclined to using the note cards for lectures 1,2, and 6 since they are so memory based, and focus a lot of effort on 3,4, and 5 since they involve more analytical/math type questions. I’ve also purchased the Wiley Test Bank for extra practice, because I keep hearing good things about it.

I’m open to suggestions/better ideas! What has helped you guys the most?

I have not received my grade back yet, but I would recommend to really understand and not just memorize the processes (for example, substantive testing, control testing, etc), why they are done, how they are done and their relationships with each other. Audit may seem like a memorization exam, but it is very important to understand why something is being done and in what context. What helped me the most is drawing out diagrams (for example the different phases of the Audit cycle, etc) on printer paper and adding on as I review. Good luck đŸ™‚

Keep practicing MCQ. As @happygal stated, know the processes. The difference between my fail an then the pass was me gaining an understanding and really knowing how the audit process works, also adding Ninja MCQ. You have to put yourself in the mindset of an auditor. Roger CPA review did a great job. His chapters were set up in a way that you go step by step through the audit process. By the end of the book I was able to comfortably talk myself through it. At work I'd even explain to my assistant what it was I was learning because we'd look at audit reports. That helped a lot, talking to someone else about it. Don't forget during SIMS on exam day you can use authoritative literature. Good luck!

For a simple answer. What helped me the most was working MCQ and finding my weak areas. You have enough time to re-write notes of struggling areas and review that. I only re-wrote areas I really struggled with.

I did not practice any sims before taking my AUD exams.

practice the sims. read a few standards to what they are and how they are formatted. know that aicpa standards are for nonissuers and pcaob are for issuers.

Can I get away with skipping sampling? I went through it but it went over my head.

Ninja MCQs until test day helped me pass Audit. And don't forget to use the AL during the Sims.

@TheHoundThatRides if you know the other chapters/ topics well, then I do not think you should worry much about sampling other than have a very general idea. good luck đŸ™‚
