Taking FAR 7/11

I know there are already so many threads like this, but I am scheduled to take FAR on July 11th and I have no idea if I’m ready for this (first exam). I work part time (Mon – Thurs), but am taking off this week monday, tuesday and half of wednesday to get some extra cram time in.

Basically, I’m practicing the Becker sims now and sometimes I understand exactly what to do, sometimes I just mess it up because of the way it’s phrased and sometimes I just have no idea what I’m doing. A lot of times I think I would know the answer or at least some of it, but the stress of any unfamiliar info makes me unable to answer any part of the question. I’m planning on going over the optional MCQs for each chapter and then taking some practice tests before the actual exam. Has anyone felt the same way? Should I push back the exam? I know no one will be able to answer this better than me, but I thought some advice/opinions couldn’t hurt.

I never push back the exam, unless I only studied for 2 weeks. If you studied 5 weeks and over I would never re-schedule. You might always feel “unready”. I am taking BEC on the same day and have done 2000 MCQ's with ninja trending 88% and I know if I get an unfavorable test bank I won't pass. The CPA test is a crapshoot if you know the principles you will be ok.

Good luck and I am pulling for you!!

I agree with crunchtime. Know the principles/concepts and you will be fine. I would spend a large amount of time reviewing principles in your final review along with MCQs during the week leading up to your exam.

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 80
    REG - 88
Using Becker Self-Study, Final Review and NINJA MCQs

Unless you are planning on postponing based on your practice exams (or need the confidence boost) you are probably better off just banging out mcq and studying each one you get wrong, when you get it wrong.

    FAR 7/11/16 - 87
    BEC 9/9/16
    REG TBD
    AUD TBD

Thanks everyone! I'll pull through and hopefully it'll work out.. i feel pretty good on principles and concepts, just the little things always trip me up if I haven't seen them for some time. Good luck on your exams!
