Hi guys,
I just finished my masters degree in accounting, and have been in a review course where we come together to watch the lecture videos, then go study MCQs/Sims on our own.
So far, I have completed all of Bisk MCQs in regulation once through, and made flash cards for concepts to review.
As the # of flash cards are huge, it takes about 2 hours to get through them all.
I spend time on MCQs identifying what concept they are trying to test me on, acknowledge general tricky areas (ie; S-corp basis. s-corps, not Pships, no stock basis for liabilities, etc…)
I have done the “personal trainer” in bisk a few times, answering about 60 questions.
I have taken 3 practice exams, My scores were 81%, 83%, 84%. I completed each test in about 1-1.5 hours. This is probably because I have seen all of the questions at least once before…? Or maybe I actually AM learning!
Every time I take the exam, I always realize I completely have no idea about something (just forget, didn’t study for a long time, tip of my tongue, etc…). I think getting comfortable with this feeling helps succeeding overall by just giving things your best shot, go with your first choice, and when having no idea at all, choose B or C.
I’m completely unsure of how ready I am. My courses this semester dealing with Bus law and taxes ( Partnerships, Corps, S-corps, Charities/estates/trusts) was really helpful for this review.
Now that I’ve rambled on about where I am at with studying, etc…. I am wondering….what do I do? should I cram all day tomorrow, the day before the test? Should I just relax and do light review?
I feel confident and uneasy at the same time. Does anyone ever really feel confident going into the exam?
Are the Practice Tests in Review courses (Mine was Bisk….) very similar to the exam?
I really want to pass on my first attempt, but I must admit I have not “sacrificed” much. I didn’t spend long nights going through MCQs for the 5000 time, but I feel that I have spent small chunks of time studying over the last month…
I’ve worked 3 internships in accounting, auditing and individual tax so I feel like I know more than the average student, but that makes me feel like I’m not studying as hard…
Ok I’m obviously kinda freaking out…..
Any tips/advice/perspective would be appreciated…!
