Has anyone taken exams in different Jurisdiction then residence? I have been told by many co-workers that NJ is the worst state to test in and that they historically “curve down” due to large population. Just curious on opinions.

The exam is uniform so the jurisdiction will not effect the test you take. The test is graded based on item response theory so it is not curved. You can sit for the exam at any prometric center in any state.

OK – so to the point then, why is it that members here are always waiting for NJ 547 or TX 328 score releases. Seems like they are at least grouping them together. And the State Boards approve the grades based on if your fit to serve the public, not a numerical score. That wording comes straight from the score notification letters.

My Aud score would have been TN 529. That just means I was approved to sit by the TN state board and the first three digits of my section ID was 529. I sat for it in Charleston, WV. Your state does not grade your exam.

I live in Virginia and my jurisdiction is New York. So yes, I take my NY exams in VA. It can be done since it's uniform as bbrandenburg10 mentioned. I have no idea about the curve down due to large population but I can tell you I've never heard of it.
