Sad to admit this, but I kind of giggled out loud when Peter Olinto said that.

Anyone else just going through the motions of watching the BEC lectures praying something will click??

There are too many formulas…I’m seriously impressed with anyone who has passed BEC! This stuff is not easy!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

Write all the formulas on a piece of paper and carry it around with you. Whenever you get a free minute, read through them. Many of them eventually will stick. Also, focus on understanding why/how the formula/ratio is used. It's easier to remember if it makes sense to you.

    F- 7/13- 84
    R- 10/13- 79
    A- 11/13- 99
    B- 1/14- 86

    Licensed in PA- 3/20/2014

This exam ALMOST defeated me back in 2006-2008, but I came back and WON!

I agree. Any time I did a multiple choice, I would immediately write down the corresponding equation before starting the problem. I found it was a great way to memorize the equations AND set myself up for solving the problem.

And I did like ABA BSA as well! Olinto is pretty funny. Although hopefully I will never ever have to look at overhead variances ever again…. Good luck studying!

I've found that conceptual understanding of the formulas to be quite helpful. Whatever method works for you is great but for me, understanding what it's doing/saying/showing was so much easier than just memorizing a ton of acronyms or formulas. Example from FAR – inventory turnover is trying to show how lean you carry in terms of COGS. Current ratio is a liquidity ratio that expresses the relationship between current assets and current liabilities. I've found this helps not only remember the formula but also help answer conceptual questions on the formulas that tend to pop up…
