Hey guys My FAR exam is on Friday and stress is my enemy as we speak.

I am using Becker and was wondering what would you guys suggest as review. Those familiar with Becker know that it has 10 sections, last one being a toss up and last minute review kind of thing. With my test being on Friday I have 3 days counting today for incremental reviews and want the last day dedicated to the Becker practice exams.

Would you guys suggest I split up the Becker into increments of three 3 sections for each day and knockout a ton of Multiple Choice questions? Or should I use other test banks (suggestions??)?

Any tips would be appreciated for the last stretch.

    Thank you guys and girls

    Day 1- Ch. 1,4,5

    Day 2- Ch. 3,6,7

    Day 3- 2,8,9

(I personally stuggled with 2 and 9 the most so save those last so it's more fresh in your head.

Ch.10- go over it fairly quickly but focus on financial instruments section

    AUD- 86 (10/2014)-passed
    BEC- 84 (11/2014)-passed
    FAR - 72 (04/2014), 71(08/2014), 88 (2/2015) passed
    REG- 70 (5/2015) , scheduled 8/24/2015

Practice exams tend to throw your confidence right out the window

I've heard good things about Becker, especially with FAR, but I can only offer guidance concerning Roger's test bank, the Wiley test bank, and the NINJA MCQs. If you do want to look at a different product for MCQ review, I wholeheartedly endorse the NINJA MCQs. I used just those and the NINJA Notes to prepare for FAR and there was not one MCQ or SIM on the exam I felt completely unprepared for. There were also several MCQs on the actual exam that were very similar if not exactly the same as the NINJA MCQs. They're well worth the minimal investment!

At this point try to do every multiple choice question in your test bank again and again if you have time. Also at the end of every chaprter in Becker is a summary of the differences between GAAP and IFRS. You should take those out of your book and staple them together and review a couple times of the day. The Becker notes that can be printed out on their web site also provide a good summary, but at this point you should be spendign at least 80% of your time on multiple choice problems and reading the solutions. The notes and IFRS/GAAP handouts could make up the other 20%.

Passed all 4 exams in 2014!

I have my exam this Friday as well. I am using becker. I have gone through each chapter and done all the multiple choice and the simulations. I took the first final review. I can't seem to keep my motivation up. I feel like I am drowning in all the information. I feel like as soon as I get one section down and moved to the next I forget everything from the last section.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where and how I should focus my time these last few days?

Govt and NFP (together about 20% of the test), IFRS vs. GAAP, for starters

Also, look for ways to tie the information together so that it isn't so scattered. I made a few lists, which are at home so I can't remember them all, but things like which situations you use discounted cashflows vs. undiscounted cash flows. That really helped me see the big picture.

I also like charts that graphically represent differences, like the variation of how various items (i.e. dividends, interest) are included in the different types of cash flow statements.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂

    @amandilee

For real? Just Ninja Notes and Ninja MCQ?
