First CPA Exam, FAR, coming up in about a week. Was hoping people could share their test taking strategies.

    MCQ Strategies?

    SIM Strategies?

Is there a certain order from least difficult to most difficult for SIMS and do you always do the research question first?

    Thanks

I can't stress enough how important time management is. I would say budget yourself 30/45/45min for the testlets. If you come to one that you'd have to spend considerable time on, flag it, move on, and come back to it later. If it's something you probably wouldn't get no matter how much time you had, try and narrow it down to 2 answers, guess and hope it's right or a pretest.

I say it's best to leave 2 hours for sims because they can be pretty out there and it will give you time to look through the AL if you need it. USE THE AL!!! It can help especially if you're stumped on one. Start with the research and if it takes you more than 5-10min to find it, go from the easiest to the hardest sim and then go back to the research.

Final tips. Keep calm and don't get overwhelmed. Get a good night's sleep the night before, lightly skim your notes before you enter, don't drink liquids excessively and say a prayer before you click start. Good luck!
