I failed FAR a year ago, miserably, and got really discouraged and decided I was done. I wasn’t taking a break, I was literally done with the test. I let my upcoming NTS expire and didn’t look back. I even applied to a graduate program in teaching and decided I just wasn’t good at accounting & needed to get out. In March I got passed up for an internal job opportunity because someone else had more experience and I decided that I was going to get my CPA license and get it fast, to show everyone that I should have been the one hired. I knew my NTS for REG expired on August 28th and so I reordered Becker materials, paid for the sections, and took them all between May and August. I just got my last passing score! It is honestly the best feeling in the world. My summer sucked; in fact, nearly every weekend and weekday between March and August sucked but you know what? It was totally worth it. I worked my butt off and now I’m done- there is not a more gratifying feeling. This site is what kept me going- thank you ESPECIALLY to my Q2 FAR Friends @stoleway, @mamabear, @kenada, @jro, @NJPRU and anyone else I forgot. You guys were AMAZING.
To anyone thinking of giving up- do NOT do it. If I had just stuck with it the first time around, I would have been able to post this a long time ago. Yes, it’s hard and it sucks but thats part of the prestige of the CPA designation!
