    agnie – I think burning study materials is the way to go! I just passed my last section and told myself that I would burn my notecards if I pass but I still have them.

    Hope it's ok to take a peek in here, in anticipation that I may have passed my 4th exam…

    @agniechaCPA2011

    I started a thread recently regarding an anniversary present I wanted to give my parents. Basically, I ripped up several of the REG pages in my review book and used it as wrapping and stuffing paper. So…books and notes can make great wrapping (and stuffing) paper!!

    @agniechaCPA2011 – I lent most of my materials to a friend to help her pass the test. It felt so good to pass my books on to someone else! And it was doubly rewarding because last score release, I got an email from her thanking me for lending her the material because she passed!

    I lent my old FAR book to a friend who needed information about governmental accounting for a class he was taking. I think the rest of it is sitting on the bottom of my bookshelf with the rest of my old accounting books that I decided to keep.

    I also keep most my books with my old college accounting books…although mine are high up in a cabinet for now. I hope to make more good use of them if I end up teaching Accounting. Although the material might be outdated by then 🙂

    Ok, I guess I better get out of here since I don't really know if I passed yet.

    I'm still not sure what I'll be doing with my materials. Some crazy part of me wants to hold on to the books for reference and as a reminder of all I've gone through to get this far. Then, there is a part of me that wants to set them ablaze…. so conflicted!

    I really want to have a bonfire with all of mine! Tonight I stacked them all up on the counter and took a picture of them! Wow! That was a ton of notebooks!!! I like the gift wrap idea! I think people would appreciate that!

    OK….I guess my posts here today were indeed in anticipation of what was to come! Whoohoo!!!

    @Swancpa

    I used the paper as wrapping paper now and it was really cute. I think I'm going to do it again…

    I like the wrapping paper idea. I really have so many of books, notes that even after using it as wrapping paper there will be lots of left over lol. I have to bring the idea to my hubby and see what he thinks, since we will be seeing his family for holidays.

    I think, I will be doing both, use it as wrap paper and in bonfire. I already started burning some old books in our fireplace and it is a such great feeling.

    I didn't think it would happen, but I got the “I miss studying for the CPA exams” blues…I didn't have it the last 2 weeks I've been waiting for my scores…I have grad school finals coming up, I can start putting in more hours at work, I have loads of projects to work on…but I still feel this way.

    I've read other people's posts about this in the past, so I know it will pass soon…I just didn't think I would feel this way 🙂

    @Kasia, somebody has mentioned to me to keep them for reference, but I don't think it is really useful because things keep on changing all the time. Beside I have really lots of books, notes even from 2008, so no point for me to keep them. Beside I think certificate on the wall will pretty much sum up everything we all have gone through..

    @Acct-I had this blue feeling last weekend, I literally did not know what to do with myself, felt almost depressed and missed studying a little, but right now I am occupying myself with Ethics test, which here in CA is almost 300 pages..I am your feeling will pass with time.

    Got my score but haven't felt done until now. Yay for being done!! It feels strange not to have something hanging over me like there has been for the past 3 months. I don't know if I like it, but I have a feeling that I'll grow into it. 🙂

    @Acct,

    I don't know if I would call it the “blues” for me but there is definitely some weird void going on. The exam consumed my life for two years. It was all I thought about. Literally. Even when I was working out, I'd be obsessing over studying or an impending score release. Now when I excercise, I actually have to focus on my breathing or the stinky Bath & Body Works lotion the gal next to me has slathered her sweaty body with. I come here and stalk the forum but don't post much. I'm trying to wean myself away.

    @agniechaCPA2011, I burned my 2009 study materials since I had to get new ones for 2011. The kids roasted s'mores and it was very cathartic. However, I still have my recent study materials in a pile in my office and I occasionally refer to them.

    @Allyson – I went through the same thing. I've filled the void now though… I read more, I skate more, and well… pretty much anything that I want. It feels sooooo good!

    And I've lost 15 pounds! My doctor gave me a hug yesterday when he saw my weight loss. lol I've been telling him for a couple years now that stress from the CPA exam was killing me and it would just be impossible to focus on losing weight while studying. I don't think he believed me before, but he does now!

    Thanks! Good luck with the Ethics exam! I've got things to keep me busy, but luckily don't have to study for Ethics 🙂

    @Allyson

    Haven't seen you around in a while! Thanks for posting.

    I have what to do to fill the time, I just have to go DO all those things…I spent most of today cleaning up and reorganizing the office with my co-worker…maybe it will give me the push to reorganize things around the house…

    @kandisjoy

    Congrats on shedding those pounds!!

    @Allyson, it is great to hear from you. I remember you from last year. How is life treating you now?

    @kandisjoy, congrats on loosing 15 lbs, that's what I want to loose to, but i have hard time going about it, I can't find motivation at all. I find something else to do instead. I know they say it takes only 30 minutes a day. Any tips?

    @Acct-I am jealous, you don't have to do the Ethics test. This stuff is so boring, I literally fall asleep reading just one chapter, it is worse than AUD. I got suggestion to look up answers since I have .pdf version but that's just does not do me justice and take little longer too, I might as well read and get familiar with it.

    @See Pee A-Congratulations!!! Thank you again for your tips with FAR!
