Ahh… the days where we were young and naïve. I thought it would be funny to share some moments where we though things were going to be much different than they panned out to be between the college days, studying/passing exam days, and working.

For example:

A coworker is still school. She texts me amusing things her classmates and teachers say or do. Today’s message, “This girl in my class just said she is going to take all her tests in the summer….” (classmate doesn’t intend on studying until classes are over though). I told my coworker, the classmate is lucky I wasn’t around because I would’ve started cracking up loudly.

Another coworker also thinks they will study and pass their tests within a very small time frame.

Luckily, my expectations were a bit more realistic. And don’t get me wrong, I would love for them to go for it and pass the tests that fast and make me put my foot where my mouth is. However, the type of person that can pull that off is far and few. So until then, I’ll keep on laughing.

I remember when a coworker and me started studying at the same time and she passed all 4 quicker than i could for one – 2 months. 🙁 IT destroyed me

A guy I went to school with did some high-intensity Becker program and passed all four sections in the same summer, possibly even the same testing window.

I scheduled all 4 in a two month period. My scores were 72 72 74 74.

That was a bad decision.

Plenty of people pass all 4 exams in the same summer. In my masters program there at least 10 students who had finished all 4 sections BEFORE starting the school year (went to school in a state where u can sit at 120 hours). It is not a rare occurrence. They didn't have a job, studied every day 8-5 and then enjoyed the summer activities in the evening & passed the exam in about 2.5 months.

And here I was impressed that individuals under the old rules, were sometimes able to gain “conditional status” by passing 2 parts, and getting a remaining 50% on the other 2 parts. I can't even comprehend passing all 4 in one sitting, or even in one Summer !!!!

What do they call an accounting person, who only managed a 75 on all four parts of the CPA exam....you got it, CPA!!!
