If I hear ONE MORE non-accounting type tell me to ‘think positive!’ and ‘stop psyching yourself out!’ and ‘you got this!’, I am going to SCREAM.

Haha! I stopped telling people I am studying for the CPA. None of them understand. I only discuss the CPA with my husband and my NINJA CPA buddies of course.

Don't tell people when your test is. If you're already frustrated, the “how do you think you did?” and “when do you find out?” questions will throw you over the edge.

Never gonna get it, never gonna get it … never gonna get it .. woo woo woo woooooooo!

I just had a flashback from my high school days in the 90's when En Vogue was popular.

Anyways, just don't tell anyone. The only people I tell are my department since I have to ask for time off. I also tell one other person I've known since before I even went to college.

Yeah, I agree they just don't get it. I feel much better since I stopped telling people, and I don't have to explain the whole testing process, cost and why 75…… I can't seem to get ONLY 75. Oh boy…..anyway, just hang in there. silently study then silently pass. Celebrate with a bang when you pass 🙂 .

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

Well, you could have a boss like mine…

He's a Watt-Sells winner, but, the first time I took Regs, I did not pass. It was a couple years ago, and – to be completely honest – I dont even remember what I got… and I dont really care either, since I am working on FAR now…

Anyway, I think my boss took it harder than me… I just remember he yelled at me a lot more than he normally does for awhile afterwards… I think it hit him pretty hard… LOL No kidding…

He can be a tough guy to work for, and, yeah, sometimes he's got a temper… Plus I do like to goof around more than the average bear, so it's not like I mind it so much… It took awhile for us to get used to one another, but he's actually a pretty awesome guy when you get to know him…

As for those who are “supportive”, as you say, well… yeah, it's stupid, but eventually you will want to hear that kind of talk… like after you get credentialed, they become clients, and then you can charge them for it…

    Muhahahahaaa…

@536FrenchmenStreet I hear you! After discussing my recent, failed attempt at FAR a new girl at work proceeded to go on and on about how you just have to “want it badly enough.” Yeah, that was my my problem. I just didn't want it badly enough. Apparently waking up at 4 am to study, missing out on valuable time with my kids, 200+ hours of studying amongst other things equates to me just “not wanting it badly enough.” I clearly had some areas of opportunity and did not pass because I wasn't quite there in ALL areas (even those areas Roger says are not commonly tested – it's all fair game!) but if it was as simple as us just wanting it badly enough, I'm pretty sure the pass rates would be a lot higher. Thank goodness for the A71 family, is all I have to say. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. 🙂

Good Lord, my head would have exploded. I agree, it's been a great relief to find this forum.

    Another, I like your thinking.

No one but my immediate family knew I was taking the exam for the entire time. I took a live Becker class out of town for 6 weeks, took an advanced accounting course at my local college, and studied like an idiot for a year. I just kept my mouth shut and my head down.
