Think you fail FAR but pass. Bombed 4 of the sims.

I know it seems like a cliche by saying “you think you fail, but pass” around here. But from my own experience, it’s true. I created this thread to ease away the anxiety some of you may have after taking FAR. Like you, I was really nervous and axious after taking FAR. I thought for sure i fail. Why? Well because i Bombed 4 of the sims. I did well on the MCQ’s i believe.

MCQs: i think i did ok, only flag about 4-5 question per testlet

Sim1-7: i only feel comfortable on 3 sims (1 was a research question).

The other 4 sims, I literally left 2 sims almost blank. The other 2 sims i don’t even know but fill out only a few slots, so basically almost blank as well.

Pass FAR with 77 oh boy, i prayed and prayed and prayed 🙂

Put in the study time, you will pass.

I felt slightly worse than you on MCQ's and slightly better on my SIMs, bombed one completely with zero's and couldn't figure out my research question. Other sims made educated guesses, was never confident that I did them correct.

    Ended up with a 79.

I also felt miserable about FAR. I was beyond overwhelmed while studying for it and didn't feel “decent” about it until about 3 days before the exam. On Ninja MCQs I was trending at 79%. I felt like I did pretty well on the MCQs, but the SIMS were awful. I also didn't even finish two of them, wasn't entirely sure I got the research one correct, and felt like I maybe got half of the other SIMS correct. Ended up with an 82. Before I took FAR I constantly said to myself, “I don't know how anyone passes this thing!” I'm still not entirely sure I deserved to pass…but the moral of the story is, even if you think you did awful on the SIMS, you definitely still have a shot at passing.

Claudia408: i did not get a performance report. I live in Wisconsin, idk if it makes a difference haha. I don't think i get a report when i pass, maybe only when i fail. But for sure i must have done good on MCQs, because no way in hell would i get even comparable on sims with 4 sims literally almost blank. 🙂

Royalhat402: goodluck to you. You can pass. 🙂 just do the studying and passing grade will come.

    Hey ninjas,
Just wanted to say that reading this thread was encouraging. I just took my first FAR exam late May and left feeling miserable. My confidence has been really low and I am fearful that I failed since I found the SIM section very difficult.

Reading this post made me realize I am not alone in the FAR struggle and am hopeful that I may have actually passed despite having trouble with the SIMS. Thanks friends

Same here. It was my 3rd run on FAR. I did 71, 71 on two previous exam. First exam, I know I screwed up. I was unprepared, but ended up with 71. On second exam, I thought i nailed both MCQ and SIMS, but I failed with exact same score. 71. My 3rd exam, knew i did well on MCQ, but I did not finish one sim and research question was brutal. Also I screwed one sim big time.(If you categorize it wrong from the beginning and the rmaining journal entry gets wrong sort of question) But it ended up with 81.

Nice to know. I took FAR last week and never felt so horrible after taking any exam in my life. If I fail that means I did not good at all in MCQ's or SIMS. But this thread gave me some hope, will look forward to June 8.

Wow, I can't believe so many people are having the same experiences with FAR recently.

I just took it this past Fri 05/27 and had two simulations that were so off what I studied in Becker – and they were nearly identical with different numbers, so I basically just guessed. And I did every single sim in Becker.

The MCs were bearable – actually easier than I thought they would be, but the sims were a beast and just killed my confidence.

Hoping we all passed even though it doesn't feel like it – don't want to take it again!! :/

As someone studying for FAR right now, this post is very encouraging. I feel so overwhelmed it's not even funny, my study sessions barely feel productive sometimes. Thanks for this.

I felt i did well on far and ended up with a 72. Who knows how this shit is graded. I can't wait for this shit to be done. Gotta pass two parts by 5/28 to not lose a part or March 10th (preferably) to not have to take the new format exam.

    @Mtaylo definitely crushed it…nooo doubt

@superdude I'm glad someone else felt the same way…i thought it was just me. I was really concerned cause I have never seen questions get THAT much harder in my previous exams where i passed. They weren't even that lengthy (although some were) but they required multiple steps and seemed like they could have been put in a simulation question. I am worried because i had to guess on 5-7 of them… Sims weren't too bad ironically and i actually got the research
